I believe in one, eternal God represented in 3 people, God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit, and that he is knowable, searching, search-able, loving, compassionate and just. I believe in the relentless, furious, longing, seeking, beckoning love of God.
I believe in the Bible as the only inspired (God-breathed) word of God, and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the man of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work, and that it is a lamp unto my feet and a light unto my path.
I believe that as believers we are saved forever by grace, through faith, not by works that no one should boast.
I believe in the finished work of Christ on the cross to take our punishment, to take away our sins and save us from Hell, and that by his stripes we are healed. As I believe in Christ as the incarnation of God on Earth, I do not believe the crucifixion to be the actions of a condemning, hateful, arrogant "smite-thee" kind of a God, but a God of deep, intense, fatherly love, willing to make the ultimate sacrifice and lay aside all that he is just to be with us.
I believe in the gifts of the Holy Spirit as functional for today, that the greatest of these is love, but that we should eagerly desire the gifts as Paul commanded. I do not see any scripture indicating a retraction of these gifts.
I believe that while God is always prevenient, and is willing that none should perish, man has the freedom to either accept or reject God's gift of grace.
I believe in a God of second chances, and third, and fourth, forever and anon, and in his promise that "Though we be at the furthest horizon," if we repent and turn to him he will forgive us. (Nehemiah 1:9).
